I recently received my invite to Google Wave. Wow. Great concept, but it’s rather lonely using the service. I invited a few people, but until the release it to the public I won’t be using it that much.

I think in the beginning people I know won’t really use the service. For example, I invited my Dad. He asked, “What is this Google Wave thing?” I responded by telling him it was another way to communicate and collaborate with others. His response – “I don’t think I can handle another form of communication.” It was worth a shot.

Tweetie is in my opinion the best application for not only the iPhone, but for my MacBook as well. It works flawlessly and I have no issues with the free version for my computer. I am not sure if I can justify paying $15 for an application with no advertisements.
I have tried other applications like TweetDeck and Twitteriffic and TwitterFon, but nothing looks and works as good as Tweetie. A lot of people favor TweetDeck because of the columns and groups, but I think that looks cluttered and takes up way too much space on my desktop. I am a Tweetie Fan for life.

RSS Feeds

I have found a new love… RSS Feeds. Now I know they have been around for a while, but I never took advantage of what they can offer me. I recently downloaded NewsFire for my MacBook and wow! That keeps all my favorite RSS feeds up-to-date and makes it really easy to read. Again, RSS feeds are so from the past, but in my opinion, it’s the best way to get all the news YOU want at your finger tips. I highly suggest finding an RSS reader that fits your needs. http://download.cnet.com/windows/newsreaders-and-rss-readers/ – this might be a good place to start. If you have a Mac I suggest NewFire. I also think that RSS Feeds are still growing in popularity.

Google: The Ultimate Stalker?

I read this article from CNN – http://tinyurl.com/m4yk9p – and it made me realize how much information of mine is kept on not only Google’s servers, but all of the other sites I post to. I highly suggest you read the article. I use Google as my primary search engine, for their email, and Google Maps, but I am not personally afraid of Google having too much information about me. That’s why we have laws, right?

iPhone Apps

Ok, so I have downloaded my fair share in regards to iPhone Applications. The best app that I have downloaded is the GroceryIQ program. It’s wonderful! You can create a favorites list and create a list from it. Also, it saves your history! Two apps that I use a lot for social networking is Facebook and Tweetie. Most recently I downloaded BeeJive and for $9.99 it’s OK. I thought it would leave me signed in a lot longer than it did. But it’s nice to have, especially when you don’t have unlimited text messages. For games, it would have to be Bejeweled 2. I love it and it’s so addicting. For news, USA Today and Wall Street Journal are good to have. For sports… SPORTACULAR. And thank you for finally creating an application that allows me to check my minutes and text messages, it’s called MyWireless by AT&T. I will post more in the future about other sweet Apps that I come across.

What is Technology to me?

I think anything that makes us more efficient qualifies as technology. Now when you think of technology, what is the first thing that comes to mind first? For me, it’s a computer. Doesn’t matter what type, just a plain old computer. Then the cell phone follows suit. When it comes down to it – both of these items have revolutionized the way we communicate, do business and share information with others. So what is technology to you? Is it just a computer? Or something beyond that?
